Did you know...

  • Following a few simple practices can help optimize storage and improve data security:
    • Please be mindful when saving intermediate data products on your P/S drives.
    • Avoid storing personally identifiable information (PII) on GitLab. Instead of saving actual data, save the code used to generate it. This helps ensure data security and prevents unauthorized access.
  • When to do a File In versus BYOD SFTP transfer?
    • File In - Use this method if your file:
      • Is under 24 MB AND does not contain personal or sensitive information.
      • The information will not be linked for analysis.
    • BYOD Import - Use this method if your file:
      • Contains personal or sensitive information (must be encrypted, with patient and provider names excluded), AND/OR is over 24 MB.
      • The information may be linked to HDPBC data for project analysis if applicable.

Other updates.

As we are transitioning to a new system architecture, please be reminded that all encrypted columns with ‘_e’ suffix (e.g., PHN_e) will be assigned new key values. This change may affect linkage of cohorts which are defined and managed by the user.

This change is planned to take place in the coming months. Additional notifications will be provided once the specific date has been confirmed.

We believe these updates will significantly enhance your workflow and productivity. If you have any questions or feedback about these changes, please reach out to us at MoHAnalytics@gov.bc.ca.
