Over the last months, several changes have been made to the platform to increase its performance and functionality. These updates included transitioning to a new system architecture — laying the groundwork for future enhancements to platform performance and data currency. We appreciate your continued engagement in providing feedback as we implement these changes. At HDPBC, our goal is to provide you with the best possible experience and ensure the platform remains a reliable, effective, and valuable resource to safely access health data.

  • Effective Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the SQL Server database name was changed from “HDPBC” to “TAEBC”. As a reminder:
    • Any SQL code referencing “HDPBC” will fail and must be updated to “TAEBC”.
    • Any Python or R code that connects to SQL Server must also be updated to use “TAEBC” as the database name.

TAE-BC RStudio Package Installation Issue and Workaround
Some users are experiencing errors when installing packages in RStudio within the TAE-BC environment. If you encounter issues (such as a "subscript out of bounds" error), please use the workaround below while we investigate a permanent fix.

Step 1: Create a local library directory
Navigate to your P: drive and create the following folder structure:
P:\R\win-library\4.4.0
(Note: Replace 4.4.0 with the specific version of R you are currently using).

Step 2: Update your library path in RStudio
Run the following command in your RStudio console to point your library to your P: drive instead of the default network share location:
.libPaths("P:/R/win-library/4.4.0")

Important Notes:

  • Error Messages: The “subscript out of bounds” error may still display during installation, but the package will successfully install to your P: drive and can be loaded normally using library().
  • Package Reinstallation: Using this new path means you may need to reinstall packages you had previously downloaded.
